How it works

Listen to a short sound once. Record one take. Hear it back, then get scored on what you can hear: the melody's shape (any key is fine), the rhythm of the hits or syllables, the length, the loudness shape and the tone. The tip tells you the thing you did worst.

Survival: 50 sounds, 3 lives. The pass mark rises 30 → 40 → 50 → 60 → 68 → 70, and every 10th sound is a hard one. Missing the mark costs a life. 5 passes in a row win a life back. If your take is too quiet, too short, clipped or noisy, you can retry it for free. You get 2 backup mics a day, and each run can use up to 2 of them to keep going. Today's sound order is the same for everyone playing that pack.

Solo wheel: pass a sound and you spin: bonus points, an extra life, a 🛡️ shield that saves your next miss, an easier mark for the next sound, or a curse (Echo, Chopped, Farts) on your next take, which then gets a mark 15 lower.

Voice chat: online, everyone can talk: in the lobby, after you've recorded, while the takes play back (voices drop to half volume so the takes stay audible), during the reveal and at the end. You're muted automatically only while the sound plays and while you record, so nobody's voice leaks into a take. 🎙️ in the top bar mutes your mic any time. Use headphones so the game doesn't echo into your mic.

Say it within the bar: recording stops by itself 2 seconds after the clip's length (the striped zone on the timeline). You can stop early.

Online: make a room and share the code or link with up to 5 friends. Everyone hears the sound at the same moment, then records one take on a shared countdown, with no retries. The room then hears every take in turn and the scores land. The round's best copy spins the wheel: bonus points (+10, +20, +30) or a 🛡️ shield for themselves, or a sabotage (Echo, Chopped, Saturated, Farts) on the next take of whoever they pick. A shield blocks the next sabotage aimed at you, then it's gone. Highest total wins.

Crowd mode (online): the host can switch the room to Crowd. After each take plays, everyone else gets 5 seconds to rate it from 0 to 100 on a slider. Your score for the sound is the average of those ratings and Echo's own score, which counts as one more vote. Nobody sees Echo's score until the reveal, and you can't rate your own take.

Everything is scored in your browser. Online, your take is sent to the room so everyone can hear it, and is never saved.
